Upcoming Dates for Baseball

Hello Steamboat Baseball Families,

We are getting very excited for the season to begin! We wanted to share with you some important dates coming up along with a recap of some of the information that was shared at the parent meeting.

Sunday, May 1st - Field Cleanup Day
Help us get Emerald Field ready for the season. Come ready to rake, pull weeds, sort equipment, etc., for as short or long as you would like. The whole family is invited! 11am to 3pm. We will notify everyone if this gets delayed due to weather.

Sunday, May 1st - Coaches Clinic
Mandatory for Coaches and Player Reps!

 - TBall: 11am - 12pm
 - Rookie: 12;30pm - 1:30pm
 - Minors & Majors: 2pm - 3:30pm
Coaches will be able to select their practice day/times and pick up their equipment after the clinic. We will be working around the Field Cleanup and using one of the open fields at Emerald.

Monday & Tuesday, May 9th & 10th - Player Evaluations
Mandatory for all Rookie, Minor or Major players!
Please sign up here for a 15 minute player evaluation time slot. Teams will be announced by the end of the week.

Monday, May 16th - Practices starts for Minors, Majors and Prospects
There were over 100 players who registered in this age group, but not enough to have a Farm division. These players will now be split into a Minor or Major team based on their evaluation. Coaches will be emailing out specific practices dates/times.

Saturday, May 21st - Opening Day Ceremony & Team Photos!
Join us for a great season kickoff from 12:30 to 3pm that will include baseball games for the Majors & Prospects, food, fun, a star-spangled national anthem, and more! All players are expected to attend to pick up their uniform and have their team photo taken. Coaches will reach out with specific times for the team photos.

Monday, May 23rd - Practice starts for Rookies
Coaches will be emailing out specific practice dates/times.

Monday, June 13th - Practice starts for T-Ball
Coaches will be emailing out specific practice dates/times.

It's not too late to sign up to volunteer! Aside from coaching positions, we need volunteers to be team parents, help with Opening Day, end of season tournament organizers, Umpires, etc. We are all just parents here volunteering our time and could use as much help as possible!

Have a teenage who wants to Umpire? - If you would like to be an umpire for the 2022 season or have questions, please contact Gary Engle at 970-846-1322 or [email protected]. No experience necessary. Open to ages 11+ with flexible schedule and great pay! We will train you.
